Crouch hits back at Twitter troll over Liverpool jibe

There would be no surprise if many predicted that Liverpool would struggle against Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Pep Guardiola’s side are a level above the rest of the pack in the Premier League as they are just one win away from claiming the title.

The North-West outfit have only been beaten once in the top flight this season, and that was against the Reds in a 4-3 loss at Anfield.

On Wednesday night, Guardiola’s men were on the end of another disappointing result as Liverpool earned a 3-0 victory.

Jurgen Klopp’s side dominated a pulsating first 45 minutes and in the second half they managed to hold on to their three-goal advantage.

Many fans and pundits alike commented on the atmosphere that engulfed Anfield on the night.

It is safe to say that the crowd spurred on the Liverpool team, and played a part in Mohamed Salah, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Sadio Mane finding the back of the net.

Peter Crouch, who spent three years playing for the Reds, tweeted his thoughts on the encounter.

One football fan aimed a dig at Liverpool’s recent lack of success in the silverware department, but the 6ft 7in striker provided a juicy comeback.
