Details of Klopp’s snub to Manchester United relived by Liverpool fans

It is safe to say that the majority of Liverpool fans are happy to have Jurgen Klopp in their corner.

The charismatic German coach took over as manager of the Merseyside outfit in October 2015 shortly after Brendan Rodgers was sacked.

It later emerged that Manchester United tried to lure Klopp to Old Trafford to replace under-fire David Moyes.

In a biography called ‘Bring the Noise’, written by Raphael Honigstein in 2017, it emerged that United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward flew to meet Klopp a few weeks before Moyes was sacked in 2014.

The book, which was serialised by the Daily Mail at the time, revealed that the United chief described Old Trafford as an ‘adult version of Disneyland’.

Klopp reportedly thought the pitch was ‘unsexy’ and after some consideration decided to stay at Borussia Dortmund.

The details have been relived by Liverpool fans, who have taken a fresh interest given the state of both clubs currently.

The Reds are unbeaten in seven matches this season and sit second in the Premier League table on level points with leaders Manchester City.

Jose Mourinho-led United, on the other hand, are low down in 10th place, nine points adrift of their Merseyside rivals.

Some fans decided to bring the details of Klopp’s United snub back to life on Reddit.
