Liverpool fans on Twitter have been busy debating the failed swoop for Nabil Fekir from back in the summer, with the main topic of conversation being whether or not the club made the right decision in backing out of the deal.
The France international was on the verge of becoming a Liverpool player, before an issue concerning his knee arose after the medical had already taken place – as a result, the Reds pulled out of the £53m deal amid doubts over Fekir’s medical results.
Has Alisson been Liverpool’s most important signing of the season? Check out the video below to find out why Jurgen Klopp thinks so…
After Philippe Coutinho had departed the club, the Lyon midfielder was seen as the Brazilian’s replacement and the man to add some much needed creativity to Jurgen Klopp’s midfield, only for no other similar type of player to arrive through the door.
This lack of creativity is still evident in the team even now, which has sparked the debate amongst Liverpool supporters as to whether or not the club were right in avoiding the risk. The majority appear to be in support of the eventual decision…
We all know just how close we were to signing Nabil Fekir last summer until concerns about his knee put a halt to the deal at the final hour, but in hindsight, did Liverpool make the right decision in not signing him?

Yes I don’t think we would have signed Allison if we would have signed him we needed a goalkeeper before anything

We would have been complicit if we ignored the data and assessment from the medic/recruitment team and undermined their position. We’re in for the long game. Short termism won’t take us far. Also, Dybala!! ?

He’s had a good season and scored some good goals for Lyon. He could have been the difference between 1 and 3 points. Then again no one knows. We thought Naby would have been a certain starter by no. In the end u have to trust Klopps judgement and paycheck behind this

Yeah, we could found better options then Fekir.

Would say yes, otherwiese Karius still would’ve been our goalkeeper

Yes we did, because we will most likely sign someone better this summer, and if we had used money on him we would not have signed Alisson.

I honestly don’t think we’d have gotten Alisson if we’d have signed him

Big shaq is similar, yet he’s being rotated
