Liverpool are pondering over a big-money move for Juventus star Paulo Dybala, according to Tuttomercatoweb.

What's the word?

Jurgen Klopp has plenty of attacking talent at his disposal, but judging by the transfer speculation surrounding his club, it seems that he is after more.

Dybala plays predominantly as a second striker at Juve and he has been a revelation at the club.

Last season, the 24-year-old scored an impressive 26 goals in 46 appearances in all competitions, and he also nabbed seven assists.

Tuttomercatoweb claims that Liverpool are weighing up a concrete offer for Dybala, whose position in the Juventus team could be in doubt if the Italian giants secure Cristiano Ronaldo's signature from Real Madrid.

The report adds that Dybala would consider a move to Anfield, but it is likely that the Reds would have to stump up a huge fee.

Could this deal happen?

Transfermarkt has the Argentina international valued at around £99m, so judging from that, it would cost Liverpool a pretty penny to land the star's signature.

The Reds by no means have a lack of funds, but over the years, their net spend has been minimal and it would be a surprise to see them splash more than £100m on a player.

It is unlikely that they would be able to negotiate Juventus down purely because the Serie A giants are in no pressure to sell.

Dybala's contract does not expire until the summer of 2022, which puts Juve firmly in the driving seat.

It would be a phenomenal signing if Liverpool managed to pull it off, but that does not seem like a reality.
