Eh? Mignolet has opened a coffee shop in his hometown

Liverpool fans cannot make their minds up on Simon Mignolet. The Belgian was excellent when the Reds came so close to winning a first ever Premier League title in 2013/14, but since then his performances have been shaky, and now he’s behind summer recruit Loris Karius in Jurgen Klopp’s pecking order.

Despite the majority of voices being negative in regards to Mignolet, there are a fair few who still rate him, with the 28-year-old a very good shot-stopper and a pretty decent all-round goalie on his day.

So, some fans follow the Belgian’s every move with interest, and an interesting story has dropped today in the shape of the player opening his own coffee shop in his hometown of Sint-Truiden.

The pictures prove this is no elaborate hoax, with the glovesman actually serving coffee behind the counter – which he may have more time to do over the coming months if Klopp keeps him on the bench!

Let’s just hope he doesn’t spill the cups as regularly as he does crosses…
