Liverpool have been linked with Sebastiano Esposito in recent weeks.

The big fat Liverpool quiz of 2019 - how much do you remember about the last year at Anfield?

The Argentine forward is just 17 years of age, but he has already made one start for Inter Milan in Serie A this term, and even scored his first goal for the club against Genoa with a penalty. According to FC Inter News, the Reds are one of the teams pursuing the teenager, along with the likes of PSG and Borussia Dortmund.

That match against Genoa should have the Reds intrigued. Looking at his performance, there are plenty of similarities with Jurgen Klopp's current number nine Roberto Firmino.

In that clash, the striker had 59 touches. Not only was that significantly more than his partner up front on the day, Romelu Lukaku, but it is also reminiscent of the Brazil international. The Reds striker has averaged the most touches per game of any striker in the Premier League, and also amassed 52 in his previous game.

Not only that, he also managed two key passes, which was the joint-most amongst his teammates. Firmino has been applauded for his teamwork and link-up play, averaging 1.3 key passes per match. This is something Esposito clearly has in his arsenal as well.

The 28-year-old's defensive ability has also received praise, but Esposito stood out from that point of view against Genoa. He has three tackles and three interceptions, which was the most of any of his teammates - and the former was significantly more than Firmino's 0.9 per match. In an Antonio Conte side, it is essential to defend from the front - much like Klopp's teams, for that matter.

There are rumours that Esposito will sign a new contract on his 18th birthday, which will be in July (Gazzetta dello Sport via sempreinter.com). As Liverpool plan for the future, they should look to beat the Italian side to the punch and try to take him to Anfield. Whilst Firmino is the man for Klopp right now, he will not be around for ever. Esposito could spend three years as a back-up and still be just 20 years of age. Looking at this performance, he is exactly the kind of player the 52-year-old would love to have in his side.

In other news, this Liverpool man shows his worth against Tottenham.
