The Slovakian international has just come to the end of his ninth campaign at Anfield, registering 319 appearances across all competitions since signing from Zenit back in January 2008.
But the 31-year-oldsuffered a fall from grace last term amid a raft of injury problems and ended the season out of favour under Jurgen Klopp, with the Anfield boss preferring Kolo Toure and Dejan Lovren.
Likewise, Joel Matip is joining the Reds from FC Schalke on a free transfer this summer – suggesting Skrtel’s game-time will take yet another hit next season.
According to The Daily Mail, Turkish side Besiktas – who claimed the 2015/16 Super Lig title – have now tabled a €9million bid for the 6 foot 3 centre-back.
But it is unknown whether the Merseysiders have accepted the offer and it seems unlikely Skrtel’s future will be decided until after Slovakia’s involvement in Euro 2016.
