It’s great when a footballer finally retires and you get to hear what they really think about some of the people they’ve played for and with throughout their career.

This week, Peter Crouch appeared on BT Sport’s What I Wore YouTube series to discuss some of the most iconic kits that influenced his career.

Of course, the time came for the presenter to show the giant striker an AC Milan kit from the 2007 Champions League final, and Crouch had some choice words about that game, and in particular Rafael Benitez's team selection on that night.

Understandably, the former England international said that he has a lot of regrets about the 2007 final, as Liverpool were beaten 2-1 by AC Milan.

Crouch didn’t hold back when saying he thinks Liverpool should have fielded a more attacking team, rather than playing Dirk Kuyt up front on his own.

The big man went on to say he didn't even mind if it wasn't him that was thrown on alongside the Dutchman, but that the Italian outfit were "there for the taking", and 4-5-1 was the wrong choice.
