Robbie Keane has told talkSPORT that Luis Suarez “will probably” leave Liverpool, following comments made by the Uruguayan earlier in the summer.
Suarez said in May that he wanted to exit Anfield, alluding to a number of issues, including the way he has been treated by the British press.
Arsenal have made a bid for the striker, while Real Madrid are also thought to be interested in obtaining his services.
“Luis Suarez has been fantastic but I think there is no question that he will probably leave.”
“If you come out with the statements that he has been then I think it’s going to be hard for him to stay at Liverpool.
“Whatever the reason is behind him wanting to leave, he’s at a massive club like Liverpool so where would he go from there? I’m really not sure.”
The Irishman continued that the state of affairs is regretful because losing a player of Suarez’s calibre will only serve to extend Liverpool’s absence from the Champions League.
“Eventually they’re [Liverpool] going to be back in the Champions League and they need players like Suarez staying there to help them achieve that,” he added.
Suarez has scored Liverpool 51 goals from 96 appearances since joining in 2011.
