Fans from all over the football world have taken to Twitter to laugh at a statue of Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, after the Egyptian was cast in bronze over in Sharm el-Sheikh.
Not too dissimilar to the abhorrent Cristiano Ronaldo statue from not too long ago, this replication of the former Basel forward looks literally nothing like the 26-year-old.
The unveiled statue was meant to commemorate the Reds talisman’s achievements since arriving on Merseyside by casting his signature celebration in bronze, but witty fans have wasted no time in searching for famous stars who bear a stronger resemblance to the statue than Salah does.
Since teaming up with Jurgen Klopp, the signing from Roma has become a world star, earning a nomination for the Ballon d’Or after breaking the record for most goals in a single 38-game Premier League season.
However, the statue does not do his achievements justice. Not one bit.
