Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to express their unhappiness with VAR, after it intervened to rule out Roberto Firmino's goal against Manchester United.Referee Craig Pawson initially saw nothing wrong with the goal, which was met with desperate claims from a number of United players after Virgil van Dijk contested David de Gea for a high ball, only for the Spaniard to drop it.
Firmino then whipped a delicious finish into the far corner, although VAR ruled it out - Martin Tyler and Gary Neville on commentary revealed that those at Stockley Park said that the Dutchman didn't make an attempt to play the ball when contesting with the United No.1.
Now, that does seem quite strange when you consider that Van Dijk kept his arms down, and also visibly had his eyes on the ball the entire time before De Gea flapped at it in far from commanding fashion.
Ultimately, it didn't matter too much as the former Southampton man and Mohamed Salah netted a goal each to record a 2-0 win over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side - however, the supporters on Twitter still weren't happy.
Let's see what they said...
To kick off the discussion, this supporter said that Van Dijk "clearly" didn't foul the former Atletico Madrid glovesman, before saying that it was an "embarrassing decision" to rule out the goal.
Elsewhere, this fan named Danny said that it was a "huge moment in the game" and also mentioned that he can't see how VAR decided that Pawson made a clear and obvious error - Danny has a point.
Meanwhile, the adjectives "scandalous" and "shocking" were on display here, as John and Nick both lambasted the decision from VAR - they also said that De Gea "bottled it" and also "got away with one".
Lastly, these two fans added to the feeling of discontent regarding VAR's intervention.

'NF' said that it was "one of the worst decisions I can remember seeing" while Rick called the officials "incompetent" and said that Liverpool were "robbed blind" - it really is hard to disagree with these six Liverpool supporters.
