Five photos that epitomise Liverpool’s demolition of Leicester

Leicester City may be reigning Premier League champions but it was Liverpool who looked like potential title-chasers this afternoon.

Indeed, the Reds started the 17.30 kickoff in emphatic fashion, bagging an early goal through Roberto Firmino and soon following up via winger Sadio Mane.

Admittedly, however, there was a notable hiccup – a woeful pass from Lucas Leiva fell straight to the feet of Jamie Vardy, who unsurprisingly put the ball past Simon Mignolet and into the back of the net.

Nevertheless, Liverpool sustained their dominance throughout and added to the scoreline once again on 56 minutes as Adam Lallana unleashed an absolute belter from just inside the box.

Likewise, Firmino popped up once again in the dying embers of the match, breaking alongside Mane to apply a finish from point-bank range.

It was a fantastic performance to welcome Reds fans to the new-look Anfield, fully equipped with the┬árecently built ‘Main Stand’.

If you want to see the highlights from today’s game or simply relive it, you’re in exactly the right place! We’ve got FIVE fantastic photos epitomising Liverpool’s solid 4-1 win.
