In recent weeks, Liverpool have been aligned with Dutch international and Spartak Moscow forward Quincy Promes.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Jurgen Klopp is considering a January move for the 24-year-old, but just who is the man being linked with a mega-money move to Anfield?

The report states that the Reds are considering their options ahead of the looming window and see Promes as a potential target to further enhance their chances of claiming a first Premier League title.

Despite the Reds' ability to score goals, Klopp is seemingly worried about the lack of depth he possesses in attacking areas as forward Danny Ings is expected to miss the whole season, while the recent loss of Philippe Coutinho to an ankle injury has hit hard. Just as worrying as the aforementioned duo is the fact Sadio Mane is expected to compete in the Africa Cup of Nations for his country Senegal next month.

Ahead of any potential deal, here are FIVE things all Kopites need to know about the Spartak Moscow forward.

Similar to Mane

Sadio Mane

For many Reds supporters unsure what type of player Quincy Promes is, it would be fair to say he could be an ideal replacement for Sadio Mane this winter.

The Dutch international's fast pace and calmness in front of goal have ensured he's thrived in the Russian Premier League.

Signing Promes would ease Klopp's concern regarding the lack of speed in the side as he would perfectly compliment Mane either as a team-mate, or a replacement.

Spartak are demanding a reasonable fee

Where else in the modern game could Liverpool find a youngster with a knack for scoring goals and devastating opposition defences for £25million?

Promes has the ability to become a star for the Reds and considering the fees paid for players such as Andy Carroll and Stewart Downing, he'd be a bargain.

Spartak Moscow may be hoping to claim the Russian Premier League title, but the club could not resist the money they could potentially receive from selling their prized asset.

Ability to play in any forward position

As everyone knows by now, Jurgen Klopp loves his attacking options to be flexible and versatile enough to play anywhere across the front three.

Fortunately for the Reds, Promes can play in the central forward role, but like Divock Origi and Mane, his pace, and skill ensure he's often played in a wider role to compliment a central striker.

With Champions League ambitions for next season, Promes' versatility could be crucial for the Reds.

Spartak's highest scorer since 2014

Quincy Promes

The 24-year-old has scored 37 goals in 75 appearances for Spartak since joining them from Dutch side FC Twente in 2014 for €15million.

As the club goes in pursuit of their first Russian Premier League title since 2001, Promes has been instrumental to their charge with six goals to his name

Unfortunately, Promes' form has dipped following reports linking him with a move away from the Muscovites.

Promes was originally born in Amsterdam, despite spending the majority of his career in the Netherlands with FC Twente.

The winger was brought up through the infamous Ajax football academy before being released and signing for their rivals, FC Twente.

After three years in their academy, Promes made his first team debut for FC Twente in 2012 and then spent a season on loan at the Go Ahead Eagles. 11 goals in 34 games attracted the interest of Spartak Moscow, and he moved to Russia in 2014.
