FIFA 16 is quite a different prospect to FIFA 15. The addition of new features to career mode, a changed gameplay and a reliance on different stats to make your players effective has put some players off the FIFA franchise and even seen some commit the blasphemy of moving towards PES.

This edition of the game requires a more tactful approach when playing against the CPU and player development is far more sophisticated during your career mode. Potential can be increased and players can flop, whilst injuries have become a whole lot more realistic (like Sturridge getting injured every time I use him..).

Liverpool still haven't properly replaced Xabi Alonso and you must sign a quality defensive midfielder to make sure Lucas Leiva is not going to be starting for you... ever.

Javi Martinez is an obvious big name option to allow Henderson to play in a more advanced role, or you could look to Dani Parejo if you don't fancy someone as defensively minded as the big Spaniard.

Be prepared to use Bobby...

When preparing your team sheets for the upcoming campaign, make sure that you are prepared for the inevitable Sturridge injuries and poor Benteke form.

Roberto Firmino is useful as a centre forward on FIFA and his movement, when combined with quick short passing can be very effective. Alternatively, look to use him running off direct balls up to the big Belgian.

Musta-have'im

Mustafi has deserved his rating hike at Valencia and would make a very good partner for Mamadou Sakho in the heart of the Liverpool defence.

Sakho's pace and power means he must be the defender that you retain.

Other options could include Marquinhos, Subotic or Jan Vertonghen could also do the job.

Look to Iberian..

Pace is still key on FIFA, even if it isn't as important as before. Liverpool's squad lacks a bit of raw pace on the wings and we have the perfect solution to such a disastrous issue.

The flying Porto winger has a strong shot and brilliant dribbling attributes, including high agility, that would make him a great threat from either wing and fit in with the quick break play of Coutinho and Firmino.
