He solves Liverpool’s lack of quality out wide

Plenty of Liverpool fans are glad to see the back of Stewart Downing as the lacklustre Englishman joins West Ham in a £5million deal.

But his move to East London has left the Reds with a disturbing lack of established quality on the flanks, with Raheem Sterling the only other senior wide man in the squad – and even he’s only 18.

Victor Moses fills that void, with four Premier League campaigns under his belt and experience at both ends of the table, as well as in Europe.

The Nigerian can play on either flank or in a winger-forward role, and gives Brendan Rodgers options if he feels the need to venture out of Liverpool’s current 4-2-3-1 formation.
