FIVE World Cup performances that could trigger a move to Liverpool

Often regarded as ‘the greatest sporting spectacle on earth’, there’s no better occasion to showcase your abilities as a footballer than a World Cup.

Those already-established world-class stars will be keen to cement their reputation amongst the footballing elite, but many will be heading to the tournament in Brazil in a bid to forge the next step of their careers.

During the 2002 World Cup for example, the performances of a  previously-unknown El Hadji Diouf  soon earned him a move to Liverpool, whilst in 2010, the showings of Sami Khedira and Mesut Ozil for Germany paved the way for mega-money switches to Real Madrid.
