Football Manager 2019 was released on November 2nd this year, and here at Football FanCast we’ve delved into the depths of the most detailed version of the game ever to find some of the best wonderkids available on your Liverpool save.

Whether those youngsters are already described by the media as wonderkids, or if they need a helping hand to reach their potential, bringing a player from the youth team and moulding him into a first-team star has to be one of the most satisfying achievements in FM.

The Liverpool job is certainly not an easy task either when you consider the expectations of the club. A title challenge is almost a must these days, despite the financial clout of Manchester City, but there is also the need to bring through youngsters from the academy to follow in the footsteps of greats like Steven Gerrard.

Lewis, who will be 18 years old at the start of your save, is an attacking wing-back who is currently in the U23s squad on Merseyside. The youngster is highly thought of and has recently been tipped as the man who will replace Alberto Moreno as backup to Andrew Robertson at the end of the 2018/19 season.

It's not so long ago that Woodburn was being considered as one of the top young talents in European football. Recently, that hype has died down slightly though thanks to his struggles to break into the side while on loan at Sheffield United. Considered a striker on FM19, Woodburn is still Liverpool's youngest goalscorer after netting against Leeds in 2016 aged just 17 years and 45 days.

Best position: Striker (Centre)

Attacking midfielder Jones impressed during Liverpool's pre-season in the summer of 2018, and many thought he could get a chance in the first-team during 2018/19, despite his young age. The England U18 international will need careful training to ensure he reaches his full potential but it could certainly be worth the time and effort.

Best position: Attacking Midfielder (Centre)

Norwegian midfielder Tagseth signed for Liverpool in the summer of 2017 from FK Neset in his home country. Despite being eligible for younger age groups, the youngster was fast-tracked into the U23s for the 2017/18 season and impressed under the guidance of Steven Gerrard. If you can develop him into anything close to the Liverpool legend he will prove to be a fantastic player on FM19.

Best position: Midfielder (Centre)

Glatzel was born in Liverpool, but is eligible to play for Germany through his parents, and has been at the club since U6 level. Able to play as a No.9 or a No.10, Glatzel netted six goals in his first four matches for the U18s side this season in real life and he could turn out to be just as deadly on the game.

Best position: Striker (Centre)

Brewster is perhaps the most exciting young prospect yet to break into the first-team at Liverpool. The London-born striker was the top scorer as England's U17 team won their World Cup in 2017, and his 14 rating for finishing could certainly improve with training in the game. Liverpool and Football Manager 2019 fans alike will be hoping that his recent knee and ankle problems have not harmed his development though.

Of course, we couldn't write a wonderkids piece on Liverpool without including Trent Alexander-Arnold. The West Derby-born youngster has broken into the first-team already under Jurgen Klopp, but with all-round stats as good as his, you could turn him into one of Liverpool and England's greatest ever full-backs.
