Former Inter boss jets in for Liverpool talks

Former Inter Milan boss Walter Mazzarri has flown in for talks with Liverpool amid growing claims for the board to sack Brendan Rodgers, reports the Metro.

Despite links with Jurgen Klopp and Carlo Ancelotti, it is the 53-year old ex-Napoli boss who is one of the favourites to take over from the heavily scrutinised Rodgers.

Despite a 3-2 win over Aston Villa, the former Swansea chief has been the subject of repeated criticism over the past few months after failing to guide the Reds to a trophy in the 3 years since his appointment.

Reports suggest Mazzarri flew into Liverpool at 10.10 this morning, set for talks with the Liverpool hierarchy.

He has been out of work since leaving the San Siro in November 2014, following a run of poor results with the Serie A giants.

Former Borussia Dortmund man Klopp has seen links with the Anfield outfit crushed in the news recently, amid reports he was willing to cut short his sabbatical for a job in the Premier League.
