Borussia Dortmund midfielder Marco Reus has dismissed rumours that he is soon to leave the Bundesliga outfit, with Liverpool reported to be interested in the player.
The 25 year-old is regarded as one of Germany’s brightest talents and has long been the subject of transfer speculation, and the news that Reus contains a £20 million buyout clause in his contract – which can be activated next summer – will only entice Europe’s top clubs further.
Although Liverpool’s interest in Reus has been long-standing, they will face stiff competition for his signature from other Premier League sides, as Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United are all believed to be keeping an eye on the player.
However, the Dortmund maestro has been quick to quell such rumours, insisting that he remains committed to Dortmund:
“At the moment there are a lot of people talking about my future. There is a lot of speculation and a lot is being written,” Reus said.
“So I would like to take this opportunity to say that other people are thinking more about my future than me.”
