Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react to the anniversary of Fabinho’s arrival at the club.
The Reds agreed a £39m fee with Monaco for the Brazilian international’s services on this day in 2018, wrapping up an agreement before the defensive midfielder officially arrived at Anfield on 1st June.
Luis Suarez certainly had no qualms about celebrating against his former employers in the video below…
Since then, the former Real Madrid man has become a key cog in Jurgen Klopp’s team despite a slow start in his early days on Merseyside – the 25-year-old didn’t make his first start for the club until the end of September.
Fabinho has won the supporters’ hearts with his no-nonsense tackling approach, but also offers something different from a typical midfield destroyer as he is superb technically with the ball at his feet.
The Reds No.3 will undoubtedly have a huge part to play in Madrid on Saturday, and the supporters on Twitter have celebrated the one-year anniversary of his signing with some complimentary words…
A year ago to this day, Liverpool confirmed the signing of Fabinho from Monaco for £43m.
What an unbelievable signing he’s been.

Remember when people wrote him off and there was talk of him going on loan? Struggled to get in the team? Never in doubt for me.

Got to trust in Klopp, he looked an absolute donkey when he started, now looks one of the first names on the team sheet, darn brilliant.
