Groups of Liverpool fans think club should make shock move for Pickford

It is no secret that Liverpool could do with recruiting a new goalkeeper this summer.

Loris Karius made two costly blunders during the team’s 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League final in May.

It was later revealed that the German had suffered concussion during a tussle with Sergio Ramos, but that has not stopped some fans for wanting a new shot-stopper in between the sticks.

Liverpool have been linked to a handful of keepers over the last few months, but at the moment there are no indications that a new face will be coming through the welcome gates at Anfield.

One man who has not featured in the transfer gossip columns is Everton’s Jordan Pickford, who is currently representing England at the World Cup in Russia.

After helping the Three Lions win their first ever World Cup penalty shootout against Colombia, Pickford impressed on Saturday as he made a handful of saves in England’s 2-0 victory over Sweden in the quarter-finals.

Following his display, some Liverpool fans tweeted that the club should try to swipe the shot-stopper from their bitter rivals Everton, who signed Pickford from Sunderland just last year.
