Liverpool are now within touching distance of winning the Premier League title.

With just 15 matches to play, they have a lead of 16 points - with a game in hand to boot. It means they can lose six of those fixtures and still be crowned champions.

Manchester City were expected to give the Reds a real title race this term but, although they are still second in the table, have not been able to hit the heights of the previous campaign when they topped the table. Instead, they have fallen away, and now need a miracle to win the league once again.

Journalist Dave O'Connell shared the quotes on his Twitter page, and it got plenty of response from the club's supporters.

Many, though, weren't really interested in what he had to say.

Given how far they are ahead, they do not really need to concern themselves with the comments of the former Barcelona boss.

Some fans, meanwhile, believe that the 49-year-old was playing mind games with his comments.

Considering his experience in the game, it seems unlikely that he would throw the towel in with 15 matches still to go.

Others, meanwhile, believe he is obsessed with their club.

It is not surprising that Guardiola would be slightly focused on what Liverpool are doing at the moment - it is hard to ignore.
