Who will ever forget the World Cup of 1990?
That 119th minute winner from David Platt against Belgium, the further escapades of extra-time against Cameroon and the heartbreak of seeing Stuart Pearce and Chris Waddle miss their penalties against the Germans.
More importantly though, who will ever forget World in Motion, the timeless classic produced by New Order and featuring John Barnes?
The Jamaican-born winger made an exciting cameo appearance on the track, reverberating his rhythms to England‘s World Cup song.
Ever wondered whether Barnes still has it though? Well, a new YouTube clip uploaded on Monday shows that he still likes a dabble in the world of rap.
Asked to test the levels of a microphone for an after-dinner speech, Barnes opted not to go with the conventional “1-2-3, testing” line, preferring rather to burst into a bit of Rapper’s Delight by the Sugar Hill Gang.
This clip shows the former Watford and Liverpool player, now 49, in action. Check it out below…
