Barring one hiccup against banana-skin side Burnley, Liverpool have enjoyed a strong start to the season in the Premier League.
Indeed, after sealing a 2-1 comeback win against Swansea City on Sunday, the Reds find themselves in fourth place in the Premier League table – just two points and three goals behind pole position title favourites, Manchester City.
The squad appears to have finally acclimatised to Jurgen Klopp’s famous ‘gegenpressing’ philosophy – the predominant source of their impressive wins over Arsenal and Chelsea.
So considering Liverpool’s league standing and their resounding results against two of the the traditional title chasers, we have a simple question for Reds fans:
Are the Merseysiders genuine contenders in this season’s Premier League title race, in a similar manner to the 2013/14 season, or will they eventually slump into the top four battle?
