Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to lavish praise on Jordan Henderson, following the 2-0 win over Manchester United on Sunday evening.

The England international was in inspired form against the Red Devils, picking up the Sky Sports Man of the Match award after an exquisite performance which helped Liverpool extend their lead at the top of the Premier League.

The 29-year-old had two shots, one of which hit the post, while he also made one key pass.

Additionally, the former Sunderland man won two aerial duels and also embarked on two successful dribbles, while also recording five tackles - no player on the pitch made more tackles.

It was a result that means Jurgen Klopp's side now sit 16 points clear at the top of the table, having won 21 of their 22 games this term while drawing the other - it truly has been an absurd run of results.

Against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, it was a committed team effort with Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah grabbing the goals, although without Henderson, things would presumably have been a lot harder.

Let's see what the Liverpool fans on Twitter are saying about the No.14...

These two fans kicked off the reaction by singing Henderson's praises.

Graeme Kelly said that "no one can doubt" the Liverpool skipper now, before saying that he has "stepped up" as captain this term.

Elsewhere, Mark went on to say that the Englishman was "absolutely superb" in what was an "immense" performance from the midfielder.

Meanwhile, Andy James said that Henderson "unquestionably gives his all" whereas a fan with the username 'redbear' used a number of adjectives to praise him, with the words "immense", "elite" and "grounded" mentioned.

Lastly, this pair of Liverpool fans both found humorous ways to heap praise on Henderson.

Shubham said that he should now be recognised as "a unit for measuring horsepower" as a result of the fine engine on the Reds captain, who was seen out-sprinting 20-year-old Diogo Dalot - who was introduced from the bench in the 87th minute - in the dying embers of the match.

Call yourself a Liverpool expert? How much did each of these big-money January signings cost?

Also, Yurisha suggested that Henderson's Game of Thrones name should be "Lord of Merseyside" - high praise indeed.
