Jordan Henderson took some time to work his way into the Liverpool team at the start of the season due to his extended break on account of England’s World Cup campaign in Russia.
The club captain – valued at £25.2m by Transfermarkt – has had to tussle for his place in the middle of the park following the summer arrival of Naby Keita.
Henderson was named in the first XI to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, but he did not finish the match, which ended in a 1-1 draw thanks to a late equaliser from Daniel Sturridge.
In the 78th minute, manager Jurgen Klopp opted to haul off his skipper and bring on Keita in his place.
The 23-year-old added some fresh dynamism to the midfield, but he has had to settle for a spot on the bench in the club’s last two Premier League outings.
With the fixtures coming thick and fast, is Keita worthy of a starting spot ahead of Henderson or should Klopp stand by his captain?
