Liverpool have been having a fine season, but they hit a bump in the road on Wednesday.

Jurgen Klopp's side were beaten 1-0 by Napoli in their second group game of the Champions League, and nobody connected to the club could admit that they were hard done by.

The team set up to dig out a result in Naples, but they struggled to carry out the task as there was a lack of urgency and accuracy on the ball.

The Reds' front three of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane failed to pose a threat and not a single shot on target was registered.

Lorenzo Insigne secured all three points for the Italian side, who stifled Liverpool's threat in attack and midfield.

It has led many fans to question the creative options that the club currently have in the middle of the park.

Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski, who made a cameo appearance on Wednesday night, was linked with a move to Anfield in 2016, according to Goal.

The report claims that Liverpool ended up signing Georginio Wijnaldum instead as the price for Zielinski while at Udinese was rising.

The midfielder has been at Napoli for the past two years and has made 103 appearances in all competitions, scoring 15 goals and creating 10 assists.

This season he has netted twice in nine outings, but would he add quality to Klopp's team?
