He was an icon at Anfield.
The Uruguayan’s path had never crossed with the Reds until the Champions League semi-final this season, leaving the Anfield faithful to remember the forward in a fond way with the memories of old dictating their thinking.
That was until they saw the monster they had created.
Luis Suarez certainly had no qualms about celebrating against his former employers in the video below…
But it wasn’t just that. The former Ajax man was seen celebrating in the face of Andy Robertson after Lionel Messi’s freekick inside the Camp Nou, and then appeared to purposely injure the Scotsman in the second leg at Anfield; his conduct was very poor indeed.
Now, however, there has been some news that will leave Liverpool fans feeling very smug.
Spanish outlet SPORT have reported that Suarez is now viewed as ‘transferable’ by Barcelona officials, who have been left angered by the striker’s decision to undergo knee surgery after the semi-final exit and neglect the Copa del Rey in doing so; they feel Suarez is prioritising the Copa America instead of club commitments.
The board have reportedly fallen out with Suarez after this incident, and it appears that the 4-0 loss to Liverpool has done more damage to the 32-year-old than just losing his lofty standing amongst the Anfield faithful.
After the childish, disrespectful way in which he acted towards his forward club across both semi-final ties, this can simply be deemed as karma for Suarez’s actions.
He is now hated by the Liverpool supporters, who will no doubt take great pride in seeing him be deemed as ‘transferable’ after his terrible acts.
