Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted that Christian Benteke leaving the club may be the best solution for the player this summer, as reported by the Metro.
A huge money signing under Brendan Rodgers last term, the Belgian has struggled to adapt to life on Merseyside and looks an outcast under the German.
After a £32m arrival at Anfield, he was only able to muster 9 league goals in a hugely frustrating campaign.
With the likes of Divock Origi, Danny Ings and Daniel Sturridge at his disposal, the former Aston Villa man has been strongly linked with moves away.
Crystal Palace have been mooted as a potential landing spot for the 25-year old, though the Eagles have so far been unable to agree a fee with the Reds.
Still, Klopp has stressed that it would take the right offer in order to tempt the club into selling one of their most expensive players ever.
‘Everyone knows about it. Christian has already said maybe it makes sense to go to another club,’ he told a news conference.
‘Christian is still a great striker. We have a few more strikers and I think it makes more sense to give them match time.’
‘If there are clubs that want a real striker than they have to make real offers – otherwise we will find solutions.’
