Klopp dealt summer transfer blow… Euro giants eyeing Liverpool-linked star

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been dealt a potential summer transfer blow, with reports from Tuttosport claiming Juventus are lining up Dortmund’s Ilkay Gundogan.

The Germany international has emerged as a target for the Reds boss since his arrival at Anfield, with speculation suggesting that he’s already contacted the player himself to assess a move.

Gundogan shone under Klopp at Dortmund, winning the Bundesliga title and helping the club to the 2013 Champions League Final in their time together, but reports indicate that a reunion may be off the cards, with Juventus interested ahead of the summer.

The Old Lady are thought to see the silky playmaker as a wise addition as they plot to further cement their position as Italian football’s dominant force.

Gundogan’s BVB contract expires in 2017, meaning he may be available for a reasonable rate at the end of the season.
