Klopp in ‘continuous contact’ with EURO 2016 ace, player pushing to join Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is in “continuous contact” with Udinese midfielder Piotr Zielinski, who is desperate to join the Reds despite rival interest in his signature, according to Emanuele Giulianelli.

The Poland international, who represented his home country at EURO 2016 this summer, has been mooted as one of the Reds’ key transfer targets for much of the past few months.

However, a fractious relationship between Liverpool and Udinese – caused by a fall-out with the Serie A side’s owners, the Pozzo family, due to Jerome Sinclair’s Watford move – has been an issue for the club, which has allowed Napoli into the race, while AC Milan are the latest club to have been seriously aligned with the man who shone while on loan at Empoli last term.

However, respected Italian football journalist, Giulianelli, has taken to Twitter to shed some light on the situation, claiming that Klopp is working hard to get the deal done and that Zielinski himself wants to move to Anfield:

He tweeted: “Klopp is in continuous contact with Zielinski: despite verbal agreements between Udinese and Milan, the player pushes to join Liverpool.”

Zielinski has already been pictured in a Liverpool shirt this summer, hinting that he is extremely keen on a move to the Premier league side.
