Klopp keen on Arsenal star as he looks to ease major Liverpool concern

Liverpool are interested in Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and will pursue a move if he does not agree a contract extension in north London, according to reports from ESPN.

The 22-year-old’s future has been the subject of some debate over the course of the past few weeks, with Manchester City, among others, thought to be keen on him.

Oxlade-Chamberlain’s current contract at Arsenal is set to expire in just over two years’ time, and despite the club being eager to tie him down long-term, Liverpool are reportedly interested.

It’s understood that the Merseysiders are monitoring the situation for now and may look to up their interest should ‘The Ox’ not agree fresh terms with the Gunners.

Jurgen Klopp is keen to lure in wide players this summer after admitting that he’s “not got too many wingers”, and it’s claimed that Oxlade-Chamberlain features on his list of targets.

The England international can play on either flank, but it’s been suggested in the past that he’s most effective in a central berth.
