Crystal Palace have announced the signing of Liverpool forward Christian Benteke on a four-year deal, as reported on their official website.
The Belgian was a huge money signing for the Reds last summer, while the club were under the stewardship of current Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers.
While he still managed to notch 9 league goals during his brief spell on Merseyside, the 25-year old struggled to nail down much of a starting berth under Jurgen Klopp.
Following the arrivals of the likes of Sadio Mane at Anfield, coupled with the departure of Yannick Bolasie from Selhurst Park, the south London outfit have splashed out on the former Aston Villa man.
That fee largely recoups the one that saw him join the the Kop giants initially, also breaking Palace’s transfer record.
He will not be in contention for today’s game with Tottenham Hotspur, though could feature in next week’s home clash with Bournemouth.
It has been a busy summer for Alan Pardew, who has also drafted in the likes of Andros Townsend, Steve Mandanda and James Tomkins.
