On Sunday evening, Liverpool managed to record their 21st win from 22 Premier League outings with a 2-0 win over Manchester United, in what has been an utterly phenomenal campaign for the Merseysiders.

Goals from Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah secured the three points, although one decision from Jurgen Klopp was perhaps the wrong one, and also a very harsh one.

Snapshot

The Reds had taken a 14th minute lead after Van Dijk towered above Harry Maguire and headed past David de Gea, who was left stranded by the power of the effort.

The European champions then saw Roberto Firmino's goal disallowed after VAR intervened, as Van Dijk was adjudged to have fouled De Gea when contesting a high ball - these Liverpool fans on Twitter were not happy with the decision.

Salah then wrapped the game up in the 92nd minute, although one move from Klopp before that was questionable.

66th minute move was harsh

For just over an hour of the game, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain had been enjoying an energetic display against the Red Devils before being withdrawn for Adam Lallana in the 66th minute.

The former Arsenal man registered five successful tackles at Anfield on Sunday, which was more than any other player managed to make - that is telling considering he didn't even play 70 minutes.

Additionally, the 26-year-old had two shots, with one hitting the target, while Oxlade-Chamberlain also completed two dribbles.

Liverpool's No.15 also found a teammate with two of his three attempted long passes, and with his fine efforts in mind, it seemed harsh for Klopp to withdraw him - it was also a decision that didn't go down well with the midfielder himself, who was visibly displeased on the bench.

Also, his replacement - Lallana - failed to make an impact on proceedings in his 24 minutes on the field, having just 15 touches while recording no shots, no key passes and no dribbles.

Given how well he was playing, Klopp was harsh to withdraw Oxlade-Chamberlain.
