Liverpool are one of a host of top clubs considering a move for Rennes forward Ismaila Sarr, acccording to The Sun.
The 20-year-old only joined Rennes last summer from fellow French side Metz and scored five goals in 22 games in Ligue 1.
The youngster was selected for Senegal’s World Cup squad and started each of their three group matches as they narrowly missed out on qualifying for the Knockout Rounds by virtue of Japan’s superior fair play record.
His impressive performances have brought him to the attention of top European clubs, including Barcelona, Juventus, Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool according to the report, although Rennes want £50million for their hot prospect.
He may not have the best goal scoring record so far in his career but he has shown that his electrifying pace and wonderful ball control can be a great asset.
There’s a reason Europe’s top clubs are fighting over him and he seems very much a Jurgen Klopp type of player.
He hasn’t shown he’s worth the fee Rennes want for their talent, but he could be an excellent addition for Liverpool and provide competition for their front three which is currently lacking.
He’s exactly the player that Klopp knows how to coach, as he has demonstrated with Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, and Sarr could easily follow in their footsteps.
