The Uruguayan has been attempting to engineer a move away from Anfield all summer, with the Spanish giants reportedly his first choice.
As of yet, Madrid are yet to follow up their reported interest with anything concrete, but now it is understood a £40m bid for the striker is imminent.
Suarez revealed earlier in the week that he had ‘two or three options’ with regards to signing for a new club, while also claiming to be ‘flattered’ by the £30m bid Arsenal launched for the forward over the weekend.
“My agent is in charge, he knows what I want,” Suarez said.
“It is good to know I am valued by teams like Arsenal.
“Now there are two or three options and the club knows.”
Arsenal had previously considered themselves favourites for the forward, but the news Real are preparing a bid of their own will see them move to red hot favourites for Suarez’s signature, with the player admitting earlier in the transfer window that a move to the Bernabeau would prove almost impossible to turn down.
