Lots of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to express their frustration at the news that Adam Lallana is set to stay at the club, according to quotes from the player himself as provided by journalist Simon Peach.

The 30-year-old endured an injury hit 2018/19 campaign as Liverpool managed to win the Champions League, their sixth major European Cup.

However, Lallana played a sporadic role and made just 16 appearances across all-competitions, whilst picking up a reported weekly wage of £110k-a-week.

As a result, the news that the former Southampton man looks set to stay at the club next season hasn't gone down too well with the Liverpool supporters, with some under the impression that the attacking midfielder simply doesn't pull his weight at the club.

And understandably so.

Given the fact that the Reds have just won the Champions League, they should be able to lure some top players to Anfield with their reputation as European champions, so clinging onto deadwood such as Lallana seems fairly underwhelming in all honesty.
