Owen rose through the youth ranks at Anfield before emerging as a world-class frontman during his time on Merseyside, winning numerous personal accolades and playing a starring role in the club's 2-1 FA Cup final win over Arsenal - Owen grabbed both goals to help Liverpool secure the treble.

However, the striker then left for Real Madrid, which is understandable given the undeniable pull of the Spanish giants.

Having said that, it was his decision to join Manchester United, Liverpool's arch-rivals, later on in his career that angered the Reds fanbase, and for some, tarnished the good memories that Owen had created whilst at Anfield.
