Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva has hinted at a move away from Anfield this January, admitting Napoli have shown serious interest in bringing him to Italy.
As reported by talkSPORT, the Brazil international has been handed a bit-part role under Brendan Rodgers this season, despite signing a new long term deal to remain at the club last year.
And the the 27-year-old has confirmed he had interest from former Reds boss and current Napoli chief Rafa Benitez back in the summer, with the Spanish boss looking to resign the player he initially brought to Merseyside.
Lucas said: “Over the summer there was interest from Napoli, along with other clubs.
“Benitez has again asked to sign me. My objective for now is to play consistently. We’ll see in future.”
