Liverpool ace sees new signing as escape ticket

Liverpool striker Luis SuarezLuis Suarez is confident that the immanent arrival of Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid will see his wish to leave Liverpool granted, according to reports from the Daily Star.

The Uruguayan international has made little secret of his desire to leave the Merseyside giants this summer, openly courting moves to both Real Madrid – his preferred destination – and Arsenal.

Although the Reds have remained firm in their stance that their talismanic front-man is not for sale, their pursuit of Costa has promoted rumours that they could finally be willing to let him go.

The Brazilian forward is believed to be on the verge of concluding a £21.7m move from Madrid to Liverpool, and is thought to have agreed personal terms with the club already.

Suarez is now confident that with a direct replacement sorted out, he will be allowed to slip out of the exit door in the coming weeks.

A source close to the controversial striker said:

“Luis is convinced these are his last days in Liverpool.”

He may choose to submit a formal transfer request soon in a bid to force the club into allowing him to move on.

Real Madrid are thought to be keen on Suarez, and could launch a £40m move even if they secure a mega money deal for Tottenham’s Gareth Bale.

Liverpool fans, can your club thrive without Luis Suarez? Or do you need him to have any chance of a top four finish?
