Liverpool after £10m summer strike solution

Liverpool are keen to ease their striker concerns with a summer move for £10m-rated Sevilla ace Kevin Gameiro, according to reports from The Metro.

The former PSG man has been at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan since 2013, after a move to Anfield failed to materialise despite a long chase.

A stunning debut campaign for the La Liga giants saw Gameiro net 21 goals, but his recent injury woes have seen Carlos Bacca take the role as Sevilla’s main marksman, leaving the French ace on the bench.

Although he’s currently not a key man for his side, Brendan Rodgers is thought to be keen, with a £10m offer thought to be in the offing.

Gameiro himself is keeping his options open for the summer, and has revealed that England is an option for him:

“I have offers, but I feel very good in Spain,” he said.

“It is a style that suits me and I still have things to do. We will see what happens at the end of the season.

“It will not be at Marseille. Maybe in England or in Germany, but the quality of life for my family is not the same as in Spain.”

Liverpool have found goals hard to come by this term, and despite Mario Balotelli’s recent revival and Daniel Sturridge’s return to fitness, the club are still a little short on firepower.
