Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Adam Lallana will be unavailable for the club’s FA Cup fourth-round clash with West Bromwich Albion on Saturday night.
Lallana had to wait until the latter stages of 2017 to make his first appearance of the season after picking up a hamstring problem during pre-season.
The 29-year-old, who is valued at £22.5m by transfermarkt.co.uk, has been involved for the Reds in recent weeks, but is still battling his way back to full fitness.
The England international will not be involved against West Brom, however, after picking up ‘a little issue’ during a training session.
Klopp though has played down suggestions that the former Southampton captain will spend another long period on the sidelines.
Klopp told reporters:
“Adam Lallana has a little issue which I think, pretty sure, keeps him out for the next game. It is not a big one but it is how it is when you have a long injury.”
Liverpool will enter Saturday’s FA Cup clash looking to bounce back from their 1-0 defeat at Swansea City in the Premier League on Monday night.
James Milner and Ragnar Klaven are also expected to miss out for the Reds this weekend.
