Liverpool boosted in £9m-rated German wonderkid chase

Liverpool are closing in on the signing of highly-rated Borrusia Monchengladbach midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud, according to Express.

The 20-year-old is currently one of the most promising youngsters in Germany after impressing for Mochengladbach last term, contributing five goals and eight assists.

It is being reported that the Bundesliga outfit are eager to keep him at the club as they believe he would benefit more by staying in Germany, but Dahoud himself has rejected a contract extension.

This has led to the belief that Liverpool are ready to move for the young central midfielder, and are happy to pay around £25m for this services this summer, but they could face competition from Jurgen Klopp’s former club Borussia Dortmund.

Dahoud enjoyed a successful campaign in the Bundesliga last term, making 23 key passes, averaging 33.5 successful passes per game and achieving an impressive 84% pass completion rate.

Since breaking in to Gladbach’s first team in 2014, Dahoud has made 44 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals.

Transfermarkt.com rate him the central midfielder at just £9m.
