Liverpool are pursuing Juventus and Italy midfielder Claudio Marchisio ahead of the January window, according to the Metro.
The Italian international has been a key part of the Old Lady’s recent domination in Serie A, winning the last four league titles, as well as reaching last year’s Champions League final.
He’s played in a top class engine room, with the likes of Andrea Pirlo, Arturo Vidal and Paul Pogba in Turin, and new boss Jurgen Klopp is thought to be a keen admirer.
However, with Pirlo and Vidal already having left the club, and Paul Pogba linked with a huge money move away, the Turin giants could be unwilling to sell.
Believed to be rated around £23.5m, the Anfield outfit could set to test the Italian champions resolve in January.
A versatile midfielder, the 29-year old has been deployed everywhere in the middle of the park, from winger to defensive midfielder – though is most comfortable in a central berth.
He has 52 caps for his national side, finishing as a runner up at Euro 2012.
