Liverpool boss chasing two German stars to replace current number one

Jurgen Klopp has made signing a replacement for Liverpool ‘keeper Simon Mignolet is priority at Anfield, according to the Daily Star.

The former Borussia Dortmund boss put pen to paper on a three-year deal to replace Brendan Rodgers at the helm, after cutting short a sabbatical following seven years in Germany.

Now, he is planning to strengthen his options between the posts when the transfer window opens again in January.

Reports suggest Bundesliga pair Loris Karius and Bernd Leno are at the top of his New Year wish list to kick off a new era on Merseyside.

Karius is currently at FSV Mainz, while German shot stopper Leno is first-choice at Bayer Leverkusen.

Current Reds net minder Mignolet has been at the club since 2012, after arriving from Sunderland under Rodgers when he began his three-year tenure.

However, he has struggled to consistently impress for the North West giants, and his new boss is set to bring in an upgrade.
