Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has played down suggestions that he shares a strained relationship with club ace Jordon Ibe.
The 20-year-old has been heavily linked with a switch to Watford amid speculation he’s grown frustrated at his lack of first team opportunities under the German boss.
He only registered his third appearance since February in the recent 2-1 win over Bournemouth, providing an assist in the process.
However, Klopp has come out to clarify the speculation of a rift between himself and Ibe, praising him for his performance, but added that competition for places is always tough.
“I heard from somewhere that Jordon has some problems with me or something?” he is quoted by talkSPORT.
“Only a few young players can come up, and sometimes they are in the squad, sometimes not.
“He’s still a brilliant, big, big talent which is very good for English football. He did well with the pass for the first goal, and the cross for the second. I was very happy.”
He previously sparked exit rumours when he deleted a number of posts regarding the Reds on his social media accounts amid links of a summer move.
The winger has already featured 36 times in all competitions for his side this term, mostly from the bench, but has so far registered three goals while providing another four assists.
