Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has dismissed the chance of youngsters Raheem Sterling and Suso leaving the club on loan until the end of the season.
The pacey pair have not been heavily involved in recent Liverpool squads and both played and scored in a Development game against West Ham earlier this week.
Sterling started the season with a bang and was an integral part of Rodgers’ plans, earning a surprise England call up on the way.
However recent form of more established players such as Stewart Downing and Jordan Henderson as well as the January arrival of Philippe Coutinho has demoted Sterling, along with Suso, down the pecking order.
The Reds do not have a big squad in comparison to the league’s top clubs and so Rodgers knows he will need to keep hold of impact players such as Sterling and Suso who could still have their say on how and where Liverpool finish the season.
“It’s very simple, neither of them are available for loan,” Rodgers told Sky Sports.
“We’ve got a very small squad and those two boys are an integral part of the group. That (loan deals) won’t happen.”
