Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina will not be leaving the club in the summer transfer window, according to boss Brendan Rodgers.
The Spaniard has endured an inconsistent couple of seasons between the sticks for the Anfield club with some high-profile mistakes leading to points being dropped, although Rodgers believes he is still the right choice.
Rumours have been growing that Reina could be on his way to Barcelona with fellow Spain international Victor Valdes moving in the other direction.
The Northern Irishman admits that he has ambitions to spend big money during the summer, but he is reluctant to allow any of his current crop to head for the exit door.
Rodgers said: “We’re into that silly season now.
“He’s (Reina) not for sale. He’s got three years on his contract now.”
