Out-of-favour Manchester City star Scott Sinclair could be taken to Liverpool by Brendan Rodgers this summer, according to the Express.
The Reds boss has reportedly been alerted by City chief Roberto Mancini’s admission that the 24-year-old would be given permission to leave after a disastrous spell at the Etihad Stadium where he has made just three starts after joining in a £6.2 million deal from Swansea last summer.
Mancini admits he can understand the frustration and says it is not the player’s fault, instead he feels Sinclair has been ‘unlucky’ and he hinted that he may need to move to resolve the situation.
The City boss said: “I think it is better if he can have another solution.
“If he stays here, maybe, everything can change but I can understand his frustration in this moment because he didn’t play a lot of games.”
Swansea were linked with a deal to take Sinclair back to the Liberty Stadium, but reports now suggest Rodgers would be interested in being reunited with the player who he managed during his time in charge of the South Wales outfit between 2010-12.
