Liverpool boss ready to use Balotelli in swap deal for Serie A ace

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has given the green light for the club to use Mario Balotelli as a makeweight on a deal for AC Milan goalkeeper Diego Lopez, according to reports from talkSPORT.

The Italy international is currently on loan at the San Siro after a miserable debut campaign at Anfield following a £16m move from the Rossoneri to the Reds.

Given Balotelli’s struggles and Klopp’s desire to play an aggressive, pressing game, very few are expecting the 25-year-old to play at Anfield again, and reports claim that the German boss is eager to use him as part of a deal for Lopez.

The Spanish stopper is currently out of the picture at Milan thanks to the staggering rise of 16-year-old stopper Gianluigi Donnarumma, and could move on in a bid to secure regular playing time.

However, the likelihood of a deal taking place appears slim with Klopp having suggested in his pre-Southampton press conference that he’s not looking to bring in another goalie despite Simon Mignolet’s shaky performances.
